Great question — and it’s the first thing we thought about. Every Snuggland is UL Safety Certified (the same standard your household appliances are held to). The built-in 4-hour auto-shutoff means it turns off automatically if you fall asleep. The low-voltage heating elements are designed to never exceed safe body-contact temperatures. The cord is 12 feet long — roughly the distance from a typical wall outlet to the middle of a living room. You can sit on the couch, move to the other end, stand up and walk to the kitchen counter, or work at your desk — all without unplugging.

Because battery-powered heated wearables only maintain heat for 2–4 hours before dying — and they produce significantly less warmth. We tested both. The plug-in version is 3x warmer and lasts literally forever (as long as you’re near an outlet). We chose full-power, unlimited warmth over limited portability. And with a 12-foot cord that works with extension cords, you’re more mobile than you’d think.

Yes. The controller disconnects with one click — a 2-second snap-off. Machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water. Tumble dry on low. Snap the controller back on. We recommend washing every 2–3 weeks with regular use.

The 3 heating zones each have 3 settings (low, medium, high). On high, CozyCo reaches approximately 140°F (60°C) — warm enough to feel like you’re wrapped in a heated towel fresh from the dryer. Most people find medium (around 113°F / 45°C) is the sweet spot for all-day wear.
